July 2, 2008 – 2:53 pm

Announcement

2nd of July 2008 - Today, iText creates yet another important relationship to add to our growing momentum. iText and Airtime have begun a strategic relationship to promote and distribute their epoch-making technologies.

“Working with Airtime will make our technologies and services more broadly available , increase options for users, lower barriers, and expand participation in our local Markets” Says David Gillick iText CEO

Interactive Mobile Marketing

In a world of increasing competition, marketers are finding it even more difficult to attract a target audience. The mobile presents a unique opportunity to break through the clutter and engage with consumers in a meaningful and one on one dialogue. The attraction here, like the internet before it the mobile phone has the potential to be an unprecedented platform for marketing, information services and commerce. Its portable, intimate and data-intensive nature makes it the perfect personal connection point in our increasing digital world.

When you compare with the more mature advertising mediums such as television, radio and print and even the internet, mobile is quickly emerging as an impactful advertising channel. According to Jupiter Research it is forecast that over 25% of marketing budgets will be spent on mobile advertising globally by the year 2011.

There are several reasons for this growth, the most often cited, according to industry estimates, is the rate of the mobile phone adoption and the global rate of mobile phones to surpass three billion in the next few years. There is evidence that the lure of the massive numbers of eyeballs fixed on ‘third screen’ is drawing marketers to this medium and it is this market space that iText and Airtime will address.

Epoch-Making Broadcast Technologies

“Each company is blazing new trails with their technology, skills and commitment to Interactive Broadcast Media,” says David Gillick, iText CEO. By working together, itext and Airtime are ushering in a new era of dynamic, broadcast, interactive media and marketing solutions for businesses of all sizes.”

This Is Only The Beginning

The agreement between iText and Airtime will initiate further collaboration between the companies on projects like Mobile Marketing and Broadcast Media for big Brands “Airtime has long been part of the Broadcast Media Ecosystem, more than 25 years successfully working in Marketing and Media. Today’s announcement highlights this relationship,” says Don Harris MD of Airtime. “Airtime is pleased to be working even more closely with a company that values innovation and breaking down barriers. The agreement is a big step in a great partnership between iText and Airtime.”

Introducing Our New Powerful Tools

July 1, 2008 – 10:21 am

Car

Well, we’ve been busy creating a new blog (you’re reading it right now) for our itext site. Best of all we have redesigned the wap landing pages and our applications to make them even more powerful. An introduction of more features mixed with some simple navigation tools has (we believe) made itext much more powerful.

The new wap landing pages includes a more advanced interactive system, so your clients can interact and request additional information more easily.

We also took the opportunity to add our “Request Brochure” function on the wap landing page. The feature simplifies the process of sending Product and Campaign brochures directly to your target Audience Mobile Phone or email address

Our favourite update is the “Send to a Friend” option. This is unique in it’s self as your target audience now become your apostles, spreading the good word of your campaign or product from mobile to mobile. Viral Marketing at it’s best!

“Our innovative and Creative Team have cracked it again ,creating a campaign tool that is more powerful and much easier to use than before.”

Why not try it for yourself, just text the words iText Car to 53033

We’d love to hear all your feedback, so leave a comment and let us know what you think!

Title Fight: WML versus XHTML

February 21, 2008 – 9:01 am

The vast majority of Irish mobile handsets now support advanced markup capabilities like XHTML, Javascript and CSS, so why do we still provide our services in WML? Well it’s simple, it’s because not all mobile owners are ready to use the mobile capabilities of their handsets. It’s a transitory problem that’s half technology and half behaviour.

The mobile internet infrastructure has been around for quite a while now. We have the handsets to support it, and we have the bandwidth to provide it, but behavioural issues with your everyday user is holding back it’s potential.

We use WML in our services because it’s not bleeding edge technology and it’s widly supported. And not just by the handsets, but (much) more importantly by the users themselves.
